Tala is a Filipino word for star.
A pair of Tala wood earrings is a tribute to a Filipino Folktale from Bukidnon, where the story begins when the sky was close to the ground. The stars were ornaments from jewelry; the moon was a comb. We are inspired by the myths and stories in the Barrios, shared by our lolas and told in countless ways.
Each piece is lovingly handcrafted by Tboli woodworkers in Lake Sebu, South Cotabato in the Philippines.
